Georgette F. Wong
President, Correlation Consulting
Georgette Wong is the Creator & Curator of the Take Action! Impact Investing Conference series and President, Correlation Consulting. Now in its fourth year, Take Action! is the premier gathering of impact investors focused on premium returns. Over the last eighteen years, Georgette has: advised families, foundations and Fortune 100 businesses on public and private investments; developed and funded early stage companies; and created organizations focused on strategic philanthropy and partnerships between the business and social sectors. Before starting Correlation Consulting, she was a Director of Client Relationships for Sterling Stamos, a multi-billion dollar private investment firm. Prior to that, she was a Financial Advisor at Piper Jaffray and the Development Director for the Asian Law Caucus, the nation’s oldest legal and civil rights organization for Asian Pacific Americans.
She is currently an advisor to the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco’s Center for Community Development Investments on an initiative to integrate social performance and financial metrics between the government and the impact investment field. She is a leading speaker and advisor on trends in impact investing. Her most recent work has been published in Solutions for Impact Investors: From Strategy to Implementation, produced by Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors and Financial Planning Magazine. She has served on the Boards of The Full Circle Fund, The Foundation Incubator, and Chinese for Affirmative Action. Georgette received an MBA from the Anderson School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles and BA magna cum laude from Amherst College.
Mary Ann McCarthy
Conference Manager
Mary Ann McCarthy joined the Correlation Consulting team in May of 2009. She brings a wealth of experience that deeply complements the Correlation Consulting team and the work of the Take Action! Impact Investing Conference Series. Her professional experience includes many years in non-profit fundraising and development. She has spent the last decade working in the financial services arena, with special emphasis on retirement plans. In 2005, she started her own practice allowing her to focus more time and energy to what she feels most passionately about. Mary Ann continues to work with a select number of large retirement plans and individuals. She resides in California with her husband and two teen-aged children.
Liz Sullivan
Special Consultant
Liz is a Special Consultant for the Take Action! Impact Investing Conference Series. Liz has been working in events for four years, starting on the planning committee for Cal Poly's Open House that showcases the University to conditionally admitted students, their families and campus and community members, culminating in an event for 40,000 guests. Post-graduation, she served as the assistant event coordinator for the 2008 Taking Action on MRI Conference. She enjoys working with the philanthropic community because of the innovation and dedication of the individuals within the space. She also currently works for UCSF as a Program Assistant for the Office of Outreach and Academic Advancement, providing programs for incoming medical students. A California native, Liz currently resides with her partner in San Francisco. She graduated in June 2008 from Cal Poly State University with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Psychology.
Meenakshi Sharma
Intern
Meenakshi Sharma is an Intern for the Take Action! Impact Investing Conference Series. She currently works for a high-tech communications start-up in Silicon Valley as a marketing specialist, focusing on managing marketing programs and customer communication. Meenakshi has a passion for social impact causes, and has volunteered in a number of organizations related to refugee assistance, community development, and health education. She currently volunteers at EngageHer, a non-profit focused on educating and activating multicultural women and their communities regarding critical issues. A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Meenakshi graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from the University of Chicago.
Jessica Weng
Intern
Jessica Weng is an Intern for the Take Action! Impact Investing Conference Series. She has been involved in social investing for over five years, has an interest in impact investing, and brings a broad range of experience to Take Action! special projects. She is currently a portfolio manager at a socially responsible investment firm in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she performs investment research and develops portfolios for clients that meet their personal values. Her research focuses on consumer-oriented companies given her past experience in product procurement, consumer trends, and inventory management. At the same firm, she also oversaw the marketing communication, performance analyses, and the implementation of a firm-wide portfolio management system. Jessica has lived in Asia for eight years and calls both the San Francisco Bay Area and Taiwan her home. She has an M.B.A. in Finance and International Business from Santa Clara University and a B.A. from the University of Southern California. Her master’s thesis on financial attitudes across multi-generational Chinese Americans, co-authored with financial theorist Meir Statman, will be published in the Journal of Investment Consulting this year.
